CHP Recognized as a
New River Valley Green Business
CHP is pleased to announce it has been recognized as a New
River Valley green business by go green NRV.
go green NRV’s mission is to promote a Green Business Program for businesses in the New River Valley of Virginia, including modified programs addressing industry specific green initiatives for the various businesses in the Valley. The group describes a sustainable business as any organization that participates in environmentally-friendly (or "green") activities to ensure that all operations, products, and manufacturing activities adequately address current environmental concerns while maintaining a profit.
“CHP is proud to be a part of the go green NRV initiative and to be recognized for our ongoing
commitment to sustainability,” stated CHP President and CEO Janaka Casper. “We believe
that all of our actions should contribute to a better environment for future generations,” Casper
added.
As part of CHP’s dedication to environmentally-responsible development, design, and
construction, it launched its Down to Earth initiative in 2003, which focuses on expanding
awareness of sustainable practices and developing ways of implementing CHP's own Principles
of Sustainability in everyday work environments.
Said CHP architect Colin Arnold, “Through our Down to Earth program, CHP endeavors to be a
leader in the non-profit world as a company actively seeking ways to be environmentally, as well
as economically and socially, sustainable.”
