mary drummond's story
Six years ago, Mary Drummond suggested to her church that senior citizens in the Newport News, Virginia area needed a safe community to call home. However, challenges and delays kept Mary from seeing her dream come true until CHPC stepped in as a partner a year ago. CHPC's construction team worked tirelessly to finish Checed Warwick, the 48-unit elderly residential property, in time to meet funding deadlines. In just four months after the property opened, Checed Warwick was fully leased in part due to Mary's recruiting efforts. She was so pleased with her new home, she spread the word to many others about her new community.

Todd Peacock is the Vice President of Construction for Community Housing Partners. In this role, Todd oversees the operations of projects in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Kentucky. His commitment to green building and sustainable practices on all projects, as well as his ability to keep projects on schedule and on budget, has helped make CHP a leader in the building industry.
Todd graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Geography and later became a licensed contractor in Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. He has managed a variety of large-scale construction projects including commercial, multi- and single-family residential homes. Todd has also been involved in many award-winning projects, including the Tekoa Boys’ Home in Christiansburg, Virginia; the Roanoke-Lee Street Duplexes in Blacksburg, Virginia; the Wilson Avenue Duplex in Blacksburg, Virginia; and the Fairfield/Lynn D project in Front Royal, Virginia.
Todd continually strives to achieve higher levels of excellence and efficiency in building, and was instrumental in harvesting, milling, and reusing felled wood from one of CHP's projects in Yorktown, Virginia. This resulted in 28,000 pounds of lumber being diverted from a landfill and reused on other projects, effectively reducing resource losses through recycling and reuse. He also regularly participates in conferences and seminars as a guest speaker on green building practices, emphasizing the importance of social and environmentally responsible design and construction.
